Murmuration supported the Agence Départementale du Tourisme du Tarn in its application for the Green Destination certification by delivering a static environmental diagnostic report in PowerPoint format. The analysis focused on the year 2024 and aimed to provide robust, data-driven evidence of the region’s environmental performance.
Four key indicators were assessed:
- Trampling Potential: Identification of sensitive natural areas with high potential for off-trail activity and dispersion of hikers.
- Vegetation Health: Seasonal monitoring of vegetation vitality across the territory.
- Air Quality: Evaluation of air quality based on the number of days exceeding WHO thresholds in 2024.
- Proximity to Threatened Species: Mapping of threatened species based on observations recorded over the past 10 years.
This diagnostic enabled the Tarn tourism board to demonstrate its commitment to sustainable tourism through objective environmental data, while identifying priority areas for preservation and low-impact visitor management.
