Digital Twin for the Malta Tourism Authority

Murmuration provides the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) with a dashboard to evaluate the practicability of tourist activities based on environmental criteria.

This dynamic dashboard includes:

• An annual study of four environmental parameters tailored to the specifics of the territory: vegetation health, air quality, water quality, and air temperature,
• A measurement of tourist attendance throughout the year,
• A panel of nine categories of tourist activities defined with MTA to represent the territory's tourism offerings (e.g., Nature and Adventure, Diving and Snorkeling, Beach and Marine Activities, History and Culture, etc.).

Each activity is then given a score out of 10 based on the environmental conditions of a selected period. It is also possible to simulate the practicability of activities based on environmental events.

The goal of this tool for MTA is to improve visitor guidance and support local providers in adapting the tourism offerings according to environmental conditions.
