Observatory for the Auvergne Rhône Alpes Regional Tourism Agency

Murmuration provides the Auvergne Rhône Alpes Regional Tourism Agency with an observatory on two main themes:

• The relationship between tourist frequentation and environmental condition: Murmuration conducts a comparative study between environmental indicators (air quality, snowfall, and weather) and tourism flows (based on mobile phone company data),
• Climate projections for the territory: Murmuration conducts a study of the climatic conditions in the region, combining historical, current, and projected data up to 2100 according to IPCC scenarios. Several parameters are studied, such as temperature, precipitation, snowfall trends, and drought days.

This study allows the Regional Tourism Committee to understand the relationship between its territory and tourist attendance on the one hand. On the other hand, it anticipates the impacts of climate change on its territory and adapts its tourism development strategy accordingly.
