SERM by Altémed is a public-private player in sustainable urban planning in the Occitanie region (France), specializing in the development of innovative projects serving local territories.
As part of the development work on the ZAC Rive Gauche district in Montpellier, SERM aimed to assess the thermal impact of new urban planning measures.
To support this effort, Murmuration conducted a comparative thermal study based on satellite-derived Land Surface Temperature (LST) data, analyzing conditions before and after the redevelopment.
The study also included a prospective simulation of the thermal impact of trees at maturity, in order to anticipate the effect of full canopy development on ground temperatures.
This approach provides SERM with both a short-term view (current state) and a long-term projection (future effects of urban greening), enabling an objective assessment of the environmental benefits of its urban projects.
