This project was undertaken in collaboration with the Slovenian company ARCTUR on behalf of the city of Batumi, Georgia.
By combining satellite data (Copernicus and GNSS) with social media data (Twitter) on tourist flows, Murmuration conducted a study focusing on:
Comparative assessment of air quality (CO, NO2, SO2, PM2.5, PM10, O3) between Batumi and several European capitals,
Analysis of urban development in Batumi from 2015 to 2019, particularly in relation to tourism, including identification of key tourist areas.
This study enables the city of Batumi to understand and monitor tourism dynamics and trends, as well as support the monitoring and implementation of their medium- and long-term tourism strategy.
