The travel bug might just bite you back this year as a relatively new phenomenon threatens holiday plans: overtourism.

Last year, Phuket, Thailand, was the most overcrowded tourist destination. For each of the island's 416,000 inhabitants, 118 vacationers showed up, according to a study by MoneyTransfers.com.

Launched with technology partner Murmuration and mobility data partner Michelin Mobility Intelligence, the holistic Urban Twin monitoring service will provide Serco clients with a complete 360-degree environmental overview, helping them to use the latest AI data-driven insights and analytics to fight climate change at a building, development, project, city or giga city level.

The competition attracted more than 2,000 entrants from 120 countries worldwide. The most submissions were from Europe, the Americas and Africa, followed by Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East. From these, an expert jury selected 30 finalists and then 15 winners.
